I never knew how beautiful and serene the state of Maine was until I had a visit about 10 years ago, and I've been back 6 times since my original vacation with my wife back in 1996. I absolutely love the great state of Maine and even think it would be great to live there in the spring summer and fall.
Little did I know that Maine has it's own unique culture along with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. From the mountains of central Maine to the remote wilderness of northern Maine to the rocky shores of the coast, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Maine.
And of course no vacation to Maine would be complete without partaking in some of the traditional cuisine such as crabs and lobster. You won't have any trouble finding lobster in Maine, they even serve it at McDonald's!
You can make the most of your vacation in this great northeast state by lodging in one of the many Maine cabin rentals available throughout the state. Just to let you know if you aren't from Maine...cabins are referred to as camps. My wife set me straight on that after a few years.
One of the most popular places to stay while in Maine is in and around Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. This area is 100% Maine and you can find everything including lighthouses, the rocky coast, and plenty of wildlife here.
